Excuses You Will Never Hear

When you speak to people who fail to carry out their responsibilities, you will often hear them making all kinds of excuses as to why they could not get their job done. Most of the time, the excuses has some viability to them. However, deep inside you know that the excuse is flimsy and other issues are really at work. The other issues are the real “excuses.,” but you will never hear these stated.

Judging Others by Their Gaffs

A gaff involves one making a minor mistake about a fact when he is speaking. In a sermon on one occasion, I made the statement: “Jesus wore a thorn of crowns.” Ugh and LOL.

A person can go on YouTube and find all kinds of funny gaffs made by all types of people: sports casters, news anchors, TV personalities, Presidents, public speakers, motivational speakers, and on the list goes.

9 More Rules for Social Media

How many blog posts were you reading in 1990? How many tweets did you post on Twitter? How many friends did you have on Facebook? How often did you upload a picture to Instagram or Snapchat in 1990? The answer to all of these questions is zero. The term “blog” was coined on December 17, 1997. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterist, and Snapchat had not yet been invented. Social media was a group of people gathering together to watch a movie or play a game.

Today, social media has taken the world by storm—and most young people subscribe to multiple social media accounts. They talk in terms of how many “likes” someone received or how many “retweets” a post got. Sadly, many parents have been slow to address this influential part of our young people’s lives.
