Our world has turned into a complaining machine. There are many things that are constantly pushing us to complain more and more and more. It is almost as if we believe that there is absolutely nothing for which to be thankful.
We complain about the weather.
We complain about politics.
We complain about our work.
We complain about the service we receive.
We complain about the sermon.
We complain about the song leading.
We complain about our mate.
We complain about gas prices.
We complain about the traffic.
We complain about our food.
We complain about the TV service.
We complain about our car.
We complain about the kids.
We complain about our taxes.
We complain our neighbors.
We complain about our weight.
We complain about how time flies.
We complain about the yard.
We complain about the inside temperature.
We complain about the neighbor’s dog.
We complain about our hair.
We complain about trash on the road.
We complain about construction on the highway.
We complain about school.
We complain about the daycare.
We complain about our aches and pains.
We complain about our parents.
We complain about needing time off.
We complain about the doctor.
We complain about……..
This is a short list. Complain, complain, complain. Some of the posts that people put on social media are just one complaint after another.
Let’s close with two passages of Scripture.
1. “Do all things without murmurings and disputings” (Phil. 2:14).
2. “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (I Thess. 5:18).
Challenge: Go one day with NO complaining. Let your life be lived that day with a sense of wonderful thanksgiving. For some, I would urge you to take the challenge today. You have wasted far too much time on complaining.

“Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Corinthians 1:13). These three questions are set against the following background. “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 1:10-12). The plea made by Paul in Verse 10 is fully supported by the three questions. All three questions are rhetorical questions having a negative answer. Consider thoughts from these three important questions.
