What To Expect
When you walk through the doors here at Sunny Slope we want you to feel welcomed. You will be our honored guest! Our congregation is made up of people of all ages, from various backgrounds and of various occupations, but we are obedient to one Gospel – the Gospel of Christ. You will find that we are simply trying to serve and worship God in an acceptable manner. We welcome all and would have all come unto the knowledge of the Truth.
At Sunny Slope our worship is offered according to the New Testament pattern:
- Singing (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16, Matthew 26:30)
- Praying (Act 2:42)
- Preaching (Acts 20:7)
- Observing the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7)
- Giving (1 Corinthians 16:2)
All the while being done “decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40)
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and we follow it as our ONLY guide in religious matters (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 1 Peter 4:11; John 12:48). The Scriptures teach that each congregation should be self-governing, led by “elders” (1 Timothy 3:1-7; 1 Peter 5:1-3). Each congregation is autonomous, i.e., independent of all other congregations and religious groups. We encourage one another to love and do good works (Hebrews 10:23-25) by following only the Word of God. (John 12:48; 16:13; Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; Peter 1:3; Jude 3).
We invite you to come and be a part of the family of God as we worship Him in spirit and in truth.
